Tracing the path where she met Elizabeth and Will in the morning, Heather made several assumptions where Elizabeth might have came from. Heather was on her way home and decided to trace Elizabeth's tracks. She came to a final decision after negotiating with her mind that Elizabeth came from across the road and began her search. She was frustrated and almost gave up until she saw something sparkle, hidden beneath the grass. Her face lit up and began searching for it.
It was a pendant. An old fashioned topaz coloured diamond tied to a string. It somehow looked ancient in Heather's eyes and was certain it belonged to Elizabeth. She picked it up and instantly dropped it. It wasn't an ordinary pendant. It was a magical one. She had a vision of a flashback when she touched it.
"It can't be!" she murmured to herself.
Battling again with her heart not to touch it for the second time, she decided to be stubborn and began inspecting it.
"How are you sure if I'm really a vampire? "
"Easy. You can just look by how pale you are. Or I can say, how pretty you are. But yeah, vampires.. are made unhumanly beautiful. And obvious characteristic, sooner or later you'll want to drink blood. Real bad. "
" Oh, " Elizabeth replied flatly.
" So, Stefan, tell me about yourself. I believe you've heard enough of my questions for today," Elizabeth beamed.
"Do you always speak like that, Lizzie?" Stefan asked, wanting to know Elizabeth more.
"Why, yes. I was trained to speak this way. As my mother regarded, it's more polite this way."
"Yeah, I guess."
"I've been wondering.. Why do all people here, like Heather and Will, speak like your way of talking?"
"It's called accent, Lizzie," He started to explain. "Yours is what we call British Accent, and as for us, we call it American Accent."
"Oh. But why is there such thing as accents? Oh, future sure is complicated unlike the old times."
Stefan laughed at that one. He was getting more and more comfortable every second talking to Elizabeth.
"Impossible," Heather mumbled softly and out of breath.
The scene she just saw was beyond the reach of anyone's mind, even hers. Some questions involving Elizabeth were answered. Elizabeth, as Heather found out, was not lying about her background that she was from the past. The year the vampires showed themselves. The year William was bitten. The question right then was, why was Elizabeth missing that year? Where had she been? And more importantly, who was she with?
Heather thought of Will the moment she snapped back into reality. Clutching the pendant on her palm, she strolled off to search for Will avoiding the stares of the curious by-standers.
"William Carstairs," Heather shouted form across the hallway of his school. And also hers too.
"Heather?" William said in shock. "Shouldn't you be at home?"
"Well, I was supposed to."
"Yes, if I'm not mistaken, your class ended two hours ago." Will mumbled as he glanced at his watch.
"Listen. You owe me an explanation."
Heather showed him the pendant she's been holding for what it seemed like forever. She was somehow green with envy remembering how Will looked at Elizabeth from the vision. William glared at the pendant although he wasn't so sure why. Heather narrowed her eyes in confusion as things started to get more complicated.
"I don't know why I despise the pendant." William admitted.
"Are you sure you can't remember anything about your human past on his one? It's pretty important." Heather sighed.
Another question yet to be left unanswered. For the moment.
