Chapter 6

Elizabeth stood motionless on the doorway. William Carstairs still loved her. The fact echoed in her mind. She clutched the pendant that was hanging on her neck. She felt her chest tighten. Suddenly, she felt her mouth very dry. It was as if she hadn't drink anything for weeks. But she ignored it.

" Lizzie? " a voice broke her thoughts. Instantly, Elizabeth forgotten what happened.

Stefan appeared with his messy brown hair.

" Stefan? What are you doing here? I was about to go to your house."

" That's the thing. I kind of forgot that my school holiday is over. And school starts today," Stefan explained.

" Oh, the place where Heather and Will goes too." Elizabeth replied, looking down, trying to hide the sadness in her voice.

Stefan walked towards her and stroked Elizabeth's cheeks. " Hey, I didn't say that I would leave you alone, right? " he smiled.
Elizabeth gave him a questioning look.

" Lady Elizabeth Davenport, I'm going to send you to school with me." Stefan grinned, took Elizabeth's hand and headed downstair.

William sat queitly on his bed while Heather was fixing herself on the mirror.

" I heard you talked with Lizzie just now. " Heather's eyes still fixed on the mirror.

There wasn't any respond. When Heather fnished with the mirror, she glanced at Willian who was staring blankly at the wall.

" Are you even listening to me?" she asked harshly.

Immediately, Will turned to her direction. " What?"

Heather sighed with frustration. " You love her."

" Heather.."

" How can we send her back? I don't want to be rude but I just cant stand her living here. Especially when I see the way you look at her!" Heather was yelling now. Showing so much envy in her voice.

" I'm sorry."

" It's not just that. There's just something about her that doesn't feels right, Will. I can feel it. It's something bad, " Heather looked at Will seriously. " The Vampire Ball. That's the only time when we can meet the Vampire Council. Let's just take her there and let them take care of her.''

Elizabeth walked along the hallway of St. Saviour High School, wore the blue jeans and grey Levi's T-shirt that Heather lent her. She walked with Stefan towards the school administration. Elizabeth could sense a strong sweet, vivid scent every time she was near Stefan. It must be his perfume, she thought.

When they entered the school administration, Elizabeth saw a woman with long brunette hair around her thirties sat facing a computer.

" Good morning, Mrs. Neila." Stefan greeted her politely.

Mrs. Neila turned her attention to Stefan. " Good morning, Stefan. You're early today. It's still 8, " she replied and then realised Elizabeth standing beside Stefan. " Oh hi. You are?"

" Elizabeth Davenport. She's my distant relative from.. Pemberly, Britain. She would like to study here as a junior like me. " Stefan said.

Mrs. Neila then stood up to shake hands with Elizabeth. Suddenly, Mrs. Neila screamed as she was holding Elizabeth hand.

Elizabeth stepped back and let go of Mrs. Neila's hand. Hence, she fell to the ground.

Stefan and Elizabeth both stared down at her. Elizabeth started to sob.

The Mrs. Neila they were staring on the ground wasn't the Mrs. Neila seconds ago. But, this was an old Mrs. Neila, wrinkled face with long grey hair. Her eyes looking up the ceiling.

Dead.
